At Creative Polymer Solutions, we believe in more than just manufacturing high-performance products through our brands, Accufoam and Rugged Coatings. We also believe in giving back to the communities that support us. That’s why we recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity to volunteer our time and skills to help build a home for the Baylor family in Birmingham, Alabama.
Why Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat for Humanity’s mission resonates deeply with CPS. The organization focuses on creating affordable housing for families in need, helping them achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership. It’s a cause that aligns with our values of supporting long-term community growth and sustainability. For us, the idea of building something lasting and foundational—whether it’s a home for a family or the future of infrastructure through our product lines—hits close to home.
Our team at CPS, including members from both Accufoam and Rugged Coatings, gathered together for a full day of service, united by a shared goal: to contribute to something greater than ourselves. And that goal was building a future for the Baylor family.
The Build: A Hands-On Experience
On a sunny morning in Birmingham, we arrived at the build site ready to make a difference. Under the guidance of Habitat for Humanity’s skilled crew, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work, starting with framing the house, an essential step in giving the structure its foundational shape. As the walls went up, we moved inside to build the interior walls that would define the rooms where the Baylor family would make countless memories. Finally, we turned our attention to the headers for the front porch, ensuring that this welcoming space would be a sturdy, inviting place for the family to enjoy. Each task was a rewarding experience, as we knew our efforts would help turn this house into a home for the Baylors.
More Than Just a Day of Work
While we were busy with saws, hammers, and measuring tapes, we knew that our efforts were more than just physical labor. Building a home is about creating a sense of stability for families like the Baylors.
This day of service also gave us a chance to strengthen our bonds as a team. Working side by side on such a meaningful project helped us grow closer and fostered a spirit of collaboration that we’ll carry forward in our day-to-day roles.
Looking to the Future
At CPS, we are committed to continuing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity and other community-driven organizations. We believe that giving back is not just a one-time event but an ongoing responsibility. This day of service was a small step in our larger mission to contribute positively to the communities we serve.
As we left the Baylor family’s future home that day, there was a sense of fulfillment knowing that we had played a small part in their journey toward homeownership. The experience was a reminder that, just as we work hard to create innovative and resilient products through Accufoam and Rugged Coatings, we must also work hard to build strong and resilient communities.
We look forward to many more opportunities to give back and build the future—both through our products and our actions.
Our day of service with Habitat for Humanity was a rewarding and humbling experience. The chance to help the Baylor family and contribute to their future is something we’ll always cherish. At Creative Polymer Solutions, we understand that building for the future means taking an active role in shaping it, and this is just the beginning.
